Fact about the rivers
The Volonga river flows into the Cheshskaya Bay of the Barents Sea. The river length - 110 km. The largest tributaries: rivers Kumushka and Travyanka. The river regards to a group of half-mountain rivers, width 25-50 m, flow speed 0,5 - 0,8 m/?. The down figures vary from 1 m/km to 2,5 m/km. The whole route is presented by alternating rapids, rifts and stony chutes. The river depth is small. On the rifts in summertime they don't exceed 0,7 m, reaches are from 1,5-2,5 m deep. The river bottom is pebble, sandy-and-pebble, and sandy, on several spots - stony bed. The riverbank is presented by rocks with northern birches and spruce. In the upper parts there are many graylings up to 2 kg, sometimes you can find salmon, bulltrout, Arctic char. The maximum weight for the salmon caught in 2003 - 14,8 kg, in 2004 - 10,2 kg. The maximum weight for the brown trout caught in 2003 - 2,75 kg, in 2004 - 3,2 kg.
The
Velikaya river flows into the eastern part of the Cheshskaya Bay of
the Barents Sea. The river length - 75 km, flow speed 0,8-1,1 m/?, width
30-40 m. The whole route is presented by alternating rapids, rifts and
stony chutes with pits of up to 2-3 m deep. In the river-bed, between
the waterfall (43 km from the estuary) and the spot where the Bolvansky's
brook flows into the river, it is difficult to traverse: there is a continuous
chain of rapids with a considerable slope and depth of about 2 m, as well
as separate boulders make difficulties for sailing means. The riverbank
is covered with birches and spruce and is difficult to traverse. But along
the riverbank it is possible to walk everywhere. The bottom is pebbles,
stone, on the reach - sand. There are many graylings (up to 2 kg), not
seldom you can find salmon,trout, Arctic char. The maximum weight for
the salmon caught in 2002 - 14 kg, in 2004 - 16 kg. The maximum weight
for the trout caught in 2002 - 4 kg, in 2004 - 2,5 kg. There is not a
single settlement on the river. It is next to impossible to meet a person
here except those herding reindeer.

The White Belaya river is the largest and picturesque inflow of the river Indiga. Extent of the river of 115 km. The river White originates with northern Timan and justifies the name, amazing with water of crystal cleanliness and a transparency. At speed of current of 0,5-1,0 km/s, width of the river makes 15-40 m. A bottom - a pebble, a stone on reaches sand. The coast of the river which were become overgrown with a birch, a fur-tree, is difficultly passable. Along coastal feature to go it is possible everywhere. On all a site of an alloy alternation of thresholds and reaches with depth of 0,5-2,5 m. Going down downwards on the river on the average its current you can see a unique nature sanctuary a canyon "the Big Gate (Bolshie Vorota)". This canyon is formed from basalts of Early Devon. Three kilometers of the river proceeds in a rocky break forming set of canyons which height exceeds height of a five-floor house in some times. Below basalts a mountain canyon of sandstones of the freakish form. Here it is possible to see set of masterpieces of "stone architecture", it both the elephant and a stone dragon, between which, being poured on the sun, lays white as a snow, quartz sand. Here it is possible to see agate and crystals of amethyst. Water is so transparent, that, having risen on a rock it is possible to see all inhabitants of the river - graylings, salmons and bulltrouts. Abundance of a fish simply amazes. The quantity of cast is frequent coincides with quantity of the caught fish. And here you, at last, in a mouth Belaya. In a place of merge of the river Belya and Indiga a transparency of water not so that, the river Indiga adds a brown shade. The maximum weight for the salmon caught in 2004 - 14 kg, trout - 4 kg. There is not a single settlement on the river. It is next to impossible to meet a person here except those herding reindeer.
